Oreo Cookie Sushi Rolls (Printable Version)

Delicious cookie rolls blended with creamy fillings and a rich chocolate dip.

# What You'll Need:

→ Sushi Rolls

01 - 20 Oreo cookies
02 - 3 tablespoons cream cheese, softened
03 - 1 banana, peeled
04 - 2 tablespoons sweetened shredded coconut
05 - 2 tablespoons strawberry jam or fruit preserves

→ Chocolate Soy Dip

06 - 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
07 - 2 tablespoons heavy cream
08 - 1 teaspoon soy sauce (optional)

→ Garnishes

09 - 1 tablespoon sprinkles (optional)
10 - Extra shredded coconut (optional)

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Separate Oreo cookies and remove cream filling. Pulse cookies in a food processor until fine crumbs form.
02 - Add softened cream cheese to Oreo crumbs and blend until mixture is sticky and cohesive.
03 - Spread a 1/4-inch thick rectangle of the mixture (approximately 8 x 6 inches) on plastic wrap laid flat.
04 - Spread a thin layer of strawberry jam over the base, then sprinkle evenly with shredded coconut.
05 - Place peeled banana lengthwise near one edge of the rectangle.
06 - Using plastic wrap to assist, tightly roll the mixture around the banana to form a log. Refrigerate for 10 minutes to firm.
07 - Microwave chocolate chips and heavy cream in 20-second intervals, stirring until smooth and melted. Stir in soy sauce if using.
08 - Unwrap the log, slice into 1-inch pieces, arrange on platter, and serve with the chocolate soy dip and optional garnishes.

# Additional Tips::

01 -
  • It tricks your brain just long enough to make you smile when you taste chocolate instead of rice.
  • No baking, no stovetop, and only a handful of ingredients you probably already have.
  • Kids lose their minds over it, and adults love the novelty at parties.
02 -
  • If the Oreo mixture is too sticky to shape, chill it for five minutes before spreading it out.
  • Use a very sharp knife and wipe it clean between slices or the rounds will squish and lose their shape.
  • The soy sauce in the dip is optional, but it really does make the chocolate taste more complex and look more like the real thing.
03 -
  • Chill the roll longer if you want cleaner slices, especially if your kitchen is warm.
  • Add a drop of vanilla extract to the chocolate dip for a softer, sweeter finish.
  • Use regular Oreos, not double stuffed, or the mixture will be too soft to roll properly.
