# What You Need:

01 - 450g ground beef
02 - 1/2 small onion, diced
03 - 1/2 green bell pepper, diced

→ Sauce

04 - 160ml ketchup
05 - 1 tablespoon brown sugar
06 - 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
07 - 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
08 - Salt and pepper to taste

→ Assembly

09 - 6 slices Texas toast (garlic buttered)
10 - 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
11 - 1 tablespoon butter (for skillet or baking tray)

# How to Make It:

01 - Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F).
02 - In a large skillet, cook ground beef over medium-high heat until no longer pink. Drain excess fat.
03 - Add diced onion and green bell pepper to the skillet, cooking until softened (about 3–4 minutes).
04 - Stir in ketchup, mustard, brown sugar, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5–7 minutes until thickened.
05 - Place Texas toast slices on a baking sheet and bake according to package directions until golden and crispy.
06 - Spoon sloppy joe mixture generously over each slice of toast.
07 - Sprinkle cheddar cheese on top of each and return to oven for 3–5 minutes, or until cheese is melted.
08 - Serve hot, optionally with pickles or chips on the side.
