# What You'll Need:

01 - 1 can (15 ounces) black beans, drained and mashed
02 - 1/4 cup plain breadcrumbs
03 - 1 large egg or 1 flax egg (1 tablespoon ground flaxseed mixed with 2.5 tablespoons water, rested 5 minutes)
04 - 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
05 - 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
06 - 2 hamburger buns

# Steps to Follow:

01 - In a medium bowl, add mashed black beans, breadcrumbs, egg or prepared flax egg, cumin, and onion powder; mix until well combined.
02 - Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each into a compact patty about 1/2 inch thick.
03 - Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat and lightly grease. Cook each patty for 5 minutes per side, until golden brown and heated through.
04 - Place each patty on a hamburger bun and serve immediately. Add preferred toppings if desired.
